Lois Mailou Jones, (1905-1998) was a Black American painter and educator whose works reflect a command of widely varied styles, from traditional landscape to African-themed abstraction. She is a legendary artist who's life story and career must be remembered and reintroduced to respectful dialogue about art history, particularly American art history.
